Gmail Duplicate Sender — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026

Gmail Duplicate Sender ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps you duplicate an opened Gmail message into a new compose draft. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension accesses, how that information is used, and your rights.

Summary

  • The Extension does not collect, store, sell, or share your personal data.
  • The Extension does not send your data to any external server.
  • All processing happens locally in your browser on mail.google.com.
  • The Extension works only when you click the Duplicate button.

Information the Extension Accesses

When you click the "Duplicate" button on an opened Gmail message, the Extension reads the following information directly from the Gmail webpage displayed in your browser:

  • Email subject line
  • Email body content (HTML)
  • Attachment filenames, if present (filenames only — not file contents)

This information is used only to pre-fill a new Gmail compose draft in the same browser tab. The Extension does not read your emails automatically or in the background.

How Information Is Used

The Extension uses the information described above solely to:

  • Display the Duplicate button inside Gmail
  • Pre-fill a new compose draft with the selected message's subject and body
  • Remind you to manually re-attach files when attachments are detected

The Extension does not use your information for advertising, analytics, profiling, authentication, or any purpose unrelated to duplicating a message into a new draft.

Data Storage and Transmission

The Extension does not maintain any database and does not store your email content on any server operated by the developer. No email content, account information, or usage data is transmitted to the developer or to any third party.

Any compose draft created by the Extension is handled entirely by Gmail within your Google account, subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms.

Permissions

The Extension requests access only to:

  • https://mail.google.com/* — required to inject the Duplicate button and read the opened message from the Gmail page so a new compose draft can be pre-filled.

The Extension does not request access to other websites, tabs, bookmarks, browsing history, clipboard, camera, microphone, or location.

Third Parties

The Extension does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, remote code, or external scripts. It does not share data with third parties.

Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Retention

Because the Extension does not collect or store user data, there is no user data for the developer to retain. Email drafts created in Gmail are retained according to Google's policies and your own Gmail settings.

Your Choices

You are always in control of the Extension:

  • The Extension only acts when you click Duplicate.
  • You can remove the Extension at any time from chrome://extensions.
  • Uninstalling the Extension deletes it from your browser and stops all Extension activity.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
