Block ChatGPT Ads ("the Extension") is developed to hide sponsored advertisement cards on ChatGPT (chatgpt.com). Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the Extension accesses, stores, and shares.

The Extension does not collect, sell, or share your personal information. All settings and statistics are stored locally on your device.
What the Extension Does
The Extension runs only on chatgpt.com and hides sponsored ad card elements in the page. It provides a toggle to turn blocking on or off and displays local statistics about how many ads have been blocked.
Data We Collect
We do not collect any of the following:
- Personally identifiable information (name, email, address, etc.)
- Chat messages or conversation content
- Browsing history on other websites
- Location data
- Financial or payment information
- Authentication credentials
Data Stored Locally
The Extension stores the following data only on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API:
- Blocking toggle — whether ad blocking is enabled or disabled
- Total blocked count — a running count of ads hidden since install
This data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to any external server.
Permissions Explained
- storage — saves your toggle preference and blocked ad count locally on your device
- tabs — reads statistics from the active ChatGPT tab when you open the extension popup
- host_permissions (chatgpt.com) — allows the Extension to run only on ChatGPT pages and hide sponsored ad elements
Third-Party Services
The Extension does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services. It does not include remote code. All functionality runs from files included in the Extension package.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or transfer any user data to third parties. We do not use user data for purposes unrelated to the Extension's single purpose of blocking ChatGPT ads.
Children's Privacy
The Extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
