Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Gemini Export Pro (“the Extension,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use our Chrome extension. We built this extension to help you export conversations from Google Gemini and Google AI Studio to PDF or Word files.
1. Information we do not collect
We do not:
- Collect, store, or sell your Gemini or AI Studio chat content on our servers
- Run analytics or advertising trackers
- Create user accounts or profiles
- Share your data with third parties for marketing purposes
2. How the Extension works
When you click export (or use the keyboard shortcut), the Extension reads the conversation
visible on gemini.google.com or aistudio.google.com from the page in
your browser. That content is used only to generate a PDF or Word file for you. The file is
created locally and downloaded to your device.
3. Data stored on your device
The Extension may store the following settings only using Chrome’s
chrome.storage.sync API (synced across your Chrome browsers if you use Chrome Sync):
- Default export format (PDF or Word)
- Default export scope (full chat or latest reply)
- UI preferences (toolbar style, per-message buttons, timestamps, title header)
These settings do not include your chat messages. You can remove them by uninstalling the Extension or clearing extension data in Chrome settings.
4. Permissions and why we need them
- activeTab — To access the current Gemini or AI Studio tab when you start an export.
- Host access (gemini.google.com, aistudio.google.com) — To inject the export UI and read chat content only on those sites.
- scripting — To load the export tools when you use the keyboard shortcut before the page script is ready.
- storage — To save your export preferences locally.
5. Remote code
The Extension does not load or execute code from remote servers. All JavaScript and CSS are bundled inside the extension package.
6. Third-party services
The Extension interacts with websites operated by Google (Gemini and AI Studio). Your use of those services is governed by Google’s own terms and privacy policies. We do not control Google’s handling of your data on their platforms.
If an exported document contains images loaded from external URLs in a chat, your browser may request those images while building the export. That is initiated by your export action, not by background tracking.
7. Children’s privacy
The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the Extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
